摘要:
Asian rice stocks are at an all-time high, but recent trends are beginning to chip away at the region’s rice glut. Total Asian rice inventories, which account for 95 percent of worldwide rice stocks, rose to 156 million tonnes in 2018, beating out the previous record of 150 million tonnes from the previous year, according to estimates from the USDA’s PS&D database. The effect on prices has been pronounced, as the International Grain Council’s global rice price index is currently hovering around an 18-month low.
